Usually, I keep my Sports rants to my Sports friends but this Michael Vick stuff is crazy. Former Pittsburgh RB/ Current ESPN announcer Merrill Hodge said about Vick's excessive hits, with no yellow flags in last night's game against the Dallas Cowboys, they were 'legal and not worthy of a penalty'. And he continued by saying 'Vick isn't (Peyton) Manning or (Tom) Brady so the hit near the sidelines (no sir, he was out of bounds) was clean because he's a running back'. WTF?? No he's not!!! HE'S A QUARTERBACK!!! This especially troubles me because it came from a player who was forced to retire IN HIS PRIME, due to excessive CONCUSSIONS!!!
The 'TRUTH' is... this is really bothering me. Seems like it's a multi-group collaboration against Vick. And I think it has everything to do with him being the worst thing for the structure of the NFL. They don't want the 'rep' to be an 'ex-con', 'nigger' quarterback. Thus, they allow him to take far worse hits than Brady or Manning and without even a flag.
But... I'm telling yall, it's bigger than the obvious. The league is not only watching Vick, but why do u think the league is pretty much backing Brett Favre's shenanigans? it's because TAVARIS JACKSON is his backup. If it was Jordan Palmer (Carson's bum little brother), he'd be playing now and the league would tell Favre to gracefully bow out and they'll give him a job sitting next to Rodney Harrison & Tony Dungy.
The Quarterback position is supposed to be the 'smart' guy on the field... His 'IQ', blah, blah blah... so no way in hell do they want to see a 'hood nigga' be the best at it and the face of the NFL. Look at all the black QBs that they 'let' strive. Donovan, Warren Moon, even Doug Williams (til he got too black, lol) were all 'house-type niggas'. Then look how they treated RANDALL (Cunningham). They don't even mention his name anymore but I still hear & see Dan Marino. They did basically the same thing, just using different ways (one by arm, one by leg) but neither won the big one. I still see Dan Fouts!!!
Add to that, MICHAEL VICK is gonna want a ton load of money at the end of this season too. This Dog-Killin' Nigger... Damn!!!
Then look who's next... Cam Newton
Believe me. It ain't by accident. That NBA Ref showed me that word from league offices do flow thru the system.
I'm saying. Favre has all the records. Most are uncatchable based on the time he's played plus the physicality on THIS game as opposed to 10 years ago. Guys are 340 lbs, muscular and run a 4.5 40. Favre has a ring and is filthy rich. What else is there to play for? Green Bay doesn't even care about the beef with him anymore. Their bigger issue is why their current QB keeps getting concussed. Favre is only playing because he can. I'm not mad. I'm a Viking fan and he still plays at a high level but he risks his life on every down now. 41 year olds don't have the physical make-up to take these hits that he gets. Your body isn't as sturdy as a 25 year old.
On the flip side....
When will Desean Jackson grow up? He's Vick biggest problem. Just when u go, 'why are they holding the black man down', Jackson turns a simple 'out pattern' into 91 yard Touchdown and then 'dickheads' the celebration, costing his team a 15 yard Unsportsmanlike Conduct Penalty. Even though it was a borderline call, you know the rules!!! They were targeted at YOU. Cmon son...

In closing, a related instance would be Michael Jordan coined the term '3-peat', bought a team and even left his gold-digger wife for a white chick but they still won't make his image the new logo of the NBA. Who EVER calls Jerry West the G.O.A.T. nowadays? Nobody!!!
